In India, the market for electric cars (EVS) is expanding quickly, and this revolution is set to take a new turn. With the new Harrier EV and Sierra EV, Tata Motors is poised to make a big impression in the Indian market. The business has nearly finished launching these two vehicles, and the Sierra’s internal combustion engine (ICE) version will follow shortly.
Harrier EV: A formidable SUV for off-road use
The Harrier EV offers strong off-road capabilities. Both single and dual motor versions of this vehicle are anticipated to be available; the dual motor version will be equipped with an all-wheel drive system. Aside from this, it is anticipated that both EV versions would have a range of over 500 kilometers on a single charge and torque of over 500 Nm.
Sierra ICE variation and plans for the future
The company is also getting ready for the Sierra’s ICE version, which should be available on Indian roads by the end of 2025. A 2.0-litre diesel engine with 170 PS and 350 Nm of torque will power the ICE Sierra. In addition, a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 168 PS of power is an option.
Both vehicles have high-end amenities.
Numerous high-end features, including a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument dashboard, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, and Level 2 ADAS, will be available in each of these EV variants.
Current state of the Avinya and Jaguar Land Rover brands
Due to component supply chain problems and a decline in demand, Jaguar Land Rover has postponed plans for Tata Motors’ new $1 billion EV production facility in India. As a result, the Avinya brand’s introduction can be delayed.
